news and information News and Information Reading Comprehension is an assignment whose focus is on understanding information that the student reads. If you look at the reading Comprehension, the assignment is based on vocabulary, language (prefix/suffix/apostrophe,etc), research (almanac, encyclopedia, dictionary skills), and questions based on the reading (students need to look back into the reading to find information.) The Inferences is a fun way to work on a topic that 5th graders need to work on. The idea behind it is to read the paragraph, and then answer the questions. The answers are either fact (something that they can find in the paragraph) or it is an inference (something that they cannot find in the paragraph.) |
